Dr.Jae Kim
Dr. Kim worked as an electrical engineer designing integrated circuits before becoming a physician. He was employed by companies such as Intel, Marvell, Broadcom, and Samsung, contributing to various consumer electronics projects, including the iPhone and Xbox.
Dr. Kim has won numerous national and international awards. He received his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, graduating as a James B. Angell Scholar and Summa Cum Laude. He then earned his master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he invented a new gigahertz clocking system for electronics that won first place in an international competition. Dr. Kim attended the University of Central Florida College of Medicine on an academic scholarship, where he won first place in an innovation competition, earning a $10,000 prize for his software to detect diabetic retinopathy early.
During his residency at the Kresge Eye Institute, Dr. Kim won over 11 awards, including the Barskey Award twice, which is given to the best resident research. He graduated with the highest number of cataract and glaucoma surgeries in the history of the Kresge Eye Institute, performing 400 cataract surgeries as a resident. He then completed his cornea and refractive fellowship at UCLA before returning to Michigan. Currently, Dr. Kim also works as a faculty at the Kresge Eye Institute, treating patients and mentoring residents. We are dedicated to providing top-quality eye care services for our patients.
